Through imaginative games, storytelling, movement, and music, young Players build friendships, confidence, and artistic skills in a supportive, no-pressure environment.
Guided by our team of theatre practitioners and youth leaders, every participant has the chance to share their ideas, express themselves, and shine on stage. Throughout the year, Players take part in two exciting mainstage productions — one scripted in the fall and one devised together in the spring — giving them opportunities to collaborate, perform, and celebrate their unique voices. Our programming thoughtfully integrates elements of science, encouraging curiosity and exploration, and includes opportunities to work with guest scientists who help spark new ideas and connections. With a no-audition policy that ensures every child is welcomed and celebrated, Chickenshed NYC offers a joyful and enriching experience where creativity, community, and discovery go hand in hand.
