Chickenshed Players
Teens work together to ensure that this program reflects and develops each member who is part of it. Through our workshops we aim to reflect the opinions and aspirations of all of the participants involved so that they have a genuine ownership of the work that is being produced.
We encourage new and transferable skills within our Players as they develop through our inclusive theatre process. By creating an environment where every individual is valued and celebrated, and combining this with a method of work that aims for excellence, our participants develop the skills that enable them to contribute positively in other areas of their lives.
These workshops leave a lasting impact, empowering you not only in the performing arts but also in all aspects of life.
In addition Players rehearse and perform in two mainstage productions each year, one scripted and one devised by the participants themselves.
Each production includes an element of science, exploring how theatre can be a megaphone for science and how science can inform the art we create. We achieve this with the help of guest scientists and artists who workshop with us during the pre-production process.
